The mission map and the JSON URLs have been updated for Flight #32
Attached is a screen capture of the map, annotated with a table compiled with selected data from JPL's JSON URLs

Screen capture of the interactive mission map after the drive on sol 606.
The end of drive location is another light toned unit, maybe an extension of the 'Bacon Strip'?
Looks like we have a clear line of sight to the helicopter at site 33 which is ~748 meters due east, so they may take the opportunity to make another flight

I am still collecting feature names, with help from Paul, so here is a map update with what I have now. Still a few things to do to this, adding samples etc.

Interesting that they are going that far out before depositing the sample cache. Presumably any samples collected on this leg will be doubles - one for the immediate cache and one for Perseverance to retain. Must be something pretty interesting in that direction.

It's not presumably, it's definitely that each rock sample is paired, two cores from each outcrop site. See the current list of samples https://mars.nasa.gov/mars-rock-samples/

Now, when Ingenuity's antenna is 'visible' again for the Perseverance base station one may expect its next flight westwards.

The planned traverse over the delta top and three planned waypoints,
as explained by Katie Stack Morgan at the AGU22 press conference on 2022-12-16.
Thick contour lines every 10 m, thin lines every 1 m.

A closer look at the nominal waypoints on top of the delta.
Waypoint no. 1 shows outcrops of presumed carbonate-cemented sandstone deposited by river.

I'm also posting sol 709 map update that shows all the mission's activity since my previous update.
Names are difficult to come by as the mission doesn't release names even to Mission Analyst page.
Customary thank you to Phil for some of the target's names.

Hi,

just posted my List of Labels on this forum for having a data source of those unofficial labels on the maps. Try to keep it up to date. This should help in naming features on your maps and preventing wrong label positions (like the strange movement of "Rockytop" a few weeks ago).

Thanks Phil for directing me to this forum!

Kind regards
Armin

Sol 762 map update.
Position of the Rocky Top outcrop was indeed in error, thanks for pointing it out.
I also adjusted position of some other names.

On Ginny last update, they talk about going to mount Julian and take a picture of the interior of Belva. Cannot find this location anywhere ! BTW, Julian is my mother’s maiden name rolleyes.gif

just added my guess to the list (77.37125873565675;18.478264174310986). A peak on the edge of Belva.

Sol 763 update, there is a lot of action. I concur with Armin in regards to Mt. Julian position, as the height is inside Rocky Mountains quadrangle, but i only use 6 decimal places for its placement on the map.
RAB
I'm not sure about Mount Julian. Others have good guesses too like this one from 65dBniose:

This might be a better guess than mine. Also Fall River Pass is a good guess here. Waiting on your opinions....

3D version. Spectacular view coming soon.

As for the new names, the other possible position for the Mt. Julian is also valid. I guess in a few days it will clear out.
Fall River Pass is a new toponym to me.

Sol 768 map update. I'm still not sure about location of the new names, so I'm leaving them out for now.
I suspect that Mt. Julian is the height to the north of the rover's current position, as it is the only commanding height in the current workspace.

I also managed to compile a list of targets from Mission Analyst for the first 655 sols with 1076 entries so far. It will take me some more time to map them, but for now I am sharing the raw list. I hope it may prove useful. It will be updated as the new info arrives.
(Please rename the file extension from .txt to .csv. For some reason the board disallows upload of the csv files.)

Have added all three guesses at the map and added A,B,C for each variant. One of them is the right one... list is updated.

Sol 770 map update with viewshed added. Rover and heli currently can't see each other.
RAB
Added "Echo Creek" to the list. Also the two abrasions (Ouzel Falls, Solitude Lake) have been added. I think we need a classification of names for the map. How about these five: Rocks, Sites, Areas (bigger sites), Cores, Abrasions? So the labels can be filered...

@kymani76: send you a PM regarding your list.

Kind regards

Working on a list with label classifications to prevent the overlapping...
RAB
Try to figure out the new list data format (csv is working so far). Would it be better to have multiple list files (for each category) or one file with all types of labels and a data field with the category included?

My first QGIS map: I think it says that Mount Julian C is the right one.
