After the new comet pictures, all it will take is for Opportunity to start rolling again and my happiness will be complete (until next time).

My happiness will be even more rolleyes.gif complete if Spirit starts rolling again!

A last look around at Santa Maria Crater?

Visibility of Endeavour's rim has worsened over conjunction. Not surprising as we head towards summer.

What was that? You wish you could see a migraine-inducing 3D view of Oppy's robot arm and science instruments suspended above Louis de Torres?

Oh alright then...

I'm pretty sure it will improve in the following weeks. wink.gif

I was about to ask what made you think the weather was going to improve, and then I smacked my head! laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the bruise!

On a different note, it is nice to hear from Oppy again. I know SC is familiar now, but I still get the willies each time we go through one. It's kind of like waiting to hear of the safe arrival of a loved one while they travel a familiar route home during the dark hours of the night. -- At least is is for me. ph34r.gif

It looks like a few more days here.

Beautiful, and it will probably be the last RAT hole until we reach Endeavour.
Just a few additional activities and we should be back on the road. From the current status report:
QUOTE
The plan ahead is to perform a rock abrasion tool (RAT) grind on the surface target Luis de Torres for follow-on microscopic imager (MI) mosaics and alpha particle X-ray spectrometer (APXS) measurements.

Completing that, Opportunity will resume the trek towards Endeavour crater.

RAT is done, APXS too, and a big bunch of MIs should already be on the downlink queue as I write this post.

Our first drive after conjunction was farther out onto the ledge of Yuma:

Opportunity is being moved into position to look (IDD-fest) at another rock...and then onto another long-baseline stereo position.

The drive-direction pancams are looking northish, so it looks like they intend to keep driving counterclockwise around Santa Maria. I'd say one more imaging location before continuing the drive to Endeavour is a good bet.

"Ruiz Garcia" seen from the other side. Apparently there's no real interest, though, since as was mentioned the drive direction images are north. (Adding: I find that surprising. Not that I know anything, but I was thinking they might approach Ruiz from above.)
