here's a completely made-up, not-accurate-at-all, Sun's-in-the-wrong-place-but-I-don't-care-it's-just-a-pretty-picture-ok?!?! visualisation of Concepcion...

Stu...

Inaccurate it may be... but I just desktopped it. The Sands and Stones of Mars.

Meanwhile, while everyone is talking about her sister, Oppy drives right over the dip I was would have avoided.

Scoffs, "You call that a rovertrap, only a drama queen would get stuck in that" and drives up to Concepcion.

And it may not be a full-blown HOAV, but there aren't any dunes obstructing our view now, and based on the navcams this may be our best view yet of Endeavour/Iazu:

I really hope we get horizon pancams from here...

There were no "drive-direction" pancams sequenced this time. It makes me wonder if this exact place is our next stop and if we may see a color 360º (?) mosaic being taken in the next few sols.
Someone referred to imaging VC a few days ago. This is a good place to take a pancam shot on that direction to see if the beacon is still visible too.

I did! wink.gif
I guess beacon will be the only visible feature by now.
BTW, what are we doing here? We must wheel.gif wheel.gif wheel.gif
ok, just joking!
I also wish we'll have a 360° view and I kinda understood, on yesterday Spirit conference, that we'll be around here for a month (?)

Indeed, can't wait for those pancams to arrive...two questions here (James! Where are you?!), one regarding this image:

Is it an artifact or can we distinguish a feature at Iazu? There's a darker patch a bit to right of the center of the visible crater...
Another question, would we see Bopolu, if the conditions permitted, on the direction Oppy took the last navcams?

There's another thread now dedicated to Concepción.
Since this place seems to be another looong stop I'll suggest everyone to move and start posting on that thread.
