What is the exact peanut deployment sequence? I have my jar of peanuts, unopened. Am I supposed to wait until EDL, until we hear it succeed?
Alex Chapman
Wonder what that data is on the left screen at the back?

They have real time Doppler data and they are detecting Mars Gravity!!!

Checking in! biggrin.gif

1 hour 38 minutes from Mars!

OK, good. I almost endng up spending the next little bit of this time on the phone to Comcast. Just after NASA TV here started the no-commentary coverage at 5pm my time, the screen went blank. All other channels were working, just not NASA TV.

I was actually working my way through the Comcast phone menu when it came back up just a couple of minutes ago.

Last night I was just about to go to bed and there, believe it or not, was a little mouse swimming in the toilet. Improbable as it sounds our Cat must have brought it in just a few moments before and for some reason have dropped it in the toilet. I rescued it and set it free outside.
So an event that’s very improbable occurred and the little guy survived both my cat and a potential drowning to live another day. That’s my good omen.

Only watching NasaTV through a sluggish connection, so will appreciate comments from you lucky enough to get nasatv on cable.

Go Phoenix !!!

Video's gone down - hope this is not an omen.
dvandorn
Whichever NASA TV gets ported into my cable system had been running to no-commentary views of the control room, and now have a "coming up" slide for the beginning of commentary at 5:30.

Video has popped in and out for me a couple of times over the past half hour, I figure at this point that this is just NASA getting their feeds straight.

Really starting to physically feel the tension now blink.gif blink.gif Don't know how those folks directly involved with the mission cope with this huh.gif .. if it were me there, I think i'd need some valium.
Juramike
NASA-TV is just showing a really cool computer simulation based on where it should be at each point. It looks live and not part of the HUD movie. Anyone know if that's available?

-Mike
Leither
Now under an hour - pop the peanuts
pioneer
1 hour to cruise stage separation.

I read somewhere only 1 trench will be dug. Is this true?
TheChemist
Thanks Stu, now it works again ...

Peanut jar opened. Peanuts of choice: Honey roasted peanuts.
dvandorn
I opened my peanuts a couple of hours ago and have been munching them slowly. I'll have plenty to last through the landing.

Honey-roasted, m'self.
