Full Version: on-craft coordinate system offsets?

I'm having trouble finding the coord system offsets for on vehicle coordinate systems. For example where on Juno is JUNO_JUNOCAM mounted, I get the orientation transform via pxform_c but I can't figure out how to find the x, y, z offset.

Thanks!

Have you had a look at the JUNOCAM Frames definitions in this?
https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/JUNO/ker.../fk/juno_v12.tf (latest version that I see there at the moment.)

[Edit, nevermind, I see that's only orientations, which you are already using. Can't find the delete button for this post, maybe someone will find it useful.]

Typically the effects of offsets would be so small for orbiters that this information doesn't appear anywhere. If it does appear, it's in the "struct" SPK files (for Juno see https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/JUNO/ker...uct_v04.bsp.lbl but it's only given for magnetometer-related objects.)

Thanks, I'll keep those for later when I incorporate the magnetometer into my visualization.

I'm trying to do some graphics stuff to help explain how JunoCam works, so I'd like a 'real' set of numbers. What I've done is use the obj file from Juno Obj File and just used the vertices along what looks like the focal plane. Real numbers would make my visualization look better smile.gif

What I have is 'close enough' for the visualization but I'd love to get 'real numbers' if they are anywhere to be found.

Thanks again,
