i was wondering if anyone here has a list of proposed crater names , besides the two already named ones
they do not have to be "official"

i would like to add them to my Deimos add on . see the video

I can't answer your question, but your animation is beautiful. Really amazing lighting effects on Deimos!

I'm not aware of any 'name bank' of approved but unassigned names. I did make a proposal for names on both Phobos and Deimos, put forward on my behalf by Jurgen Blunck, but it was not approved. Like the names Phobos and Deimos themselves, the names were associated with the Trojan War.

He's making a reference to one of my projects, which also has some lighting effects - although in my case its using MOLA data, whereas I don't know where you'd get the data to illuminate Deimos that well. It's a nice job.
Phil Stooke
There's no Deimos shape data that good. This is what you call 'augmented reality'. But it is beautiful.

Why would they reject it if they didn't accept another?
Phil Stooke
Brad Smith doesn't like naming things unless there's a pressing need like a planned mission. He was in charge of that committee.

That does allow more time for folks to die.

(That comment would be more sardonic if they weren't leaning towards crater Cronkite.)
