MRO News Briefing: Subject Unknown

While following the Hubble mission on the web using NASA TV, I got into the habit of checking the schedule for other events. I noticed that MRO got an hour and a half time slot for a news briefing on the 27th!

Oooh, nice catch! I'll see if anyone on Twitter can shed any light on it...

If this is more gully-science, a little bit of me will probably die.

I'm wondering if it's old landers, or something interesting from CRISM.

Maybe something that ties in with the Phoenix anniversary? Hard to believe it's a year since HiRISE took those amazing shots of Phoenix descending on its parachute, and then standing on the surface. Typically I'll be at work, so I'll miss it. Sure people will post the highlights here tho, won't they? (hint )

Darn! I was hoping the torrent of water had magically washed Spirit away leaving it on top of Von Braun!

Seems like it's just going to be a wrap up of the primary mission by Rich Zurek.

Martian cats have been seen leaving proposed landing sites of the Curiosity rover.

Well, I missed the press conference, but I presume it wasn't too HiRISE heavy because I just saw the HiRISE PI 10 minutes ago.

For me the review didn't tell me anything much that I didn't already know. Except for MSL being named Curiosity. If I had heard that, I think I would have remembered it. However, it was a well organized and well presented review.

The questions almost seemed scripted. No stupid questions but no interesting ones either. Maybe it was because the review was so long they didn't want the questions to drag out? I was hoping for questions about future MRO support for Spirit and Opportunity. Is MRO's radar going to sweep the inner basin? If that has already happened I am unaware of it.
