CRISM has at last found its holy grail, in the Nili Fossae region. I think NASA had gone sour on this area as MSL's landing site because of the rough terrain. This may cause the decision makers to reconsider things.

No word on which carbonate minerals were detected. Any ideas?

I remember reading it was magnesium carbonate, although I can't remember where.
