Awesome!!! It almost looks like the images were taken in a martian sunset/sunrise too...

With all that flat terrain, Opportunity should really be able to "floor it" when it gets out of the crater. Full speed ahead! smile.gif

I assume the large crater in the area is just to the left of the panorama, right? I would expect such a large crater to be quite an imposing landmark over the flat plain.

Think the big crater is actually some way off the left , I think the panorama only covers about 170 - 260 degrees, I hope we get to see more soon!

It is really facinating to compare with the orbital pic...

Well - a single frame is about 16 degrees.

Allowing for overlap - call it 14 per frame, 8 frames, so that image covers 112 degrees
