I'm confuded. Original data are available in format of Table only.
IMG files do not show original data, they are double in size and
with ugly artifacts (for example, image 1204, see left top and left
bottom corners).

As with all PDS data, you can check the DOCUMENT folder to find answers to questions about images. I don't have time to download and read, but it looks like this might be a source of answers:

Are you sure the IMG software you're using is handling the IMGs correctly? What you've shown is a classic case of digital number (DN) clipping back to zero. This can happen if the software incorrectly assumes incorrect valid ranges representing brightness - note that only the brightest areas are clipped.

Actually I got the same thing using NASAView.

The clipped data may be saturated in the original data and have been "masked" to zero, flagging it as invalid.
