Happy Birthday Oppy!

Here's my new quick and dirty SFX image ...

Opportunity on Cape Desire (683,5 KB):

Hum... The effect will be better with hard shadows under the rover (I sayed "hard" in contrary to jpl pictures sfx where the shadows are too smooth to believe that there was external images...).
So, it's always good smile.gif.

It looks to me that Oppy might be about to check out that crack and stain area that we spotted from on the other side of the bay. It appears very close.

Not sure where to post this Oppy sol 1065 sunset...

Lots of color compression artifacts plus a few missing data fixups.

Thanks for those excellent movies. My astronomy class will be seeing both of them this evening.

Thanks Horton for those stunning sunset images! That gif colour banding got me all nostalgic for my first Martian sunset:

Please enjoy this enhanced movie based on the fantastic Sunset sequence generated by hortonheardawho, and Rover Opportunity of course!

Great movie Astro! - That enhanced movie is one of the most evocative sights to come out of the Mars Rovers mission.

The color drive movie from Victoria must be a first !

My Opinion: Both would be fine contributions to IMAX Roving Mars: The Sequel mars.gif smile.gif
