Ive been checking back with the exploratorium website frequently and they haven't had any updates since early September, it looks increasingly likely that they are no longer going to be providing new images. sad.gif On the other hand the main JPL rover website seems to have been updating a little more frequently lately smile.gif

I noticed that- the exploratorium was always so much faster as well - and to be honest- easier to navigate biggrin.gif

Might be worth an email to find out if they really are stopping it now we're on the super-exension.

There is, you know, another explanation -- there haven't BEEN any new photos of Mars returned during the solar conjunction period.

Solar Conjunction is OVER and there have been new pictures since then that have appeared at JPL - but not at the Exploratorium. It's not a problem - it's just a bit dissapointing as the exploratorium was always faster and first with the newer images.

See here - http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/all/spirit.html - notice the sol 258 FHZ image - the couple of Navcam images taken every day during conjunction, ditto Pancam. It's the same deal with Opportunity - which has actually been driven since SC finished!

We all know what Solar Conjunction is and means - and infact both rovers continued to take some images on a daily basis during that time which have since been returned to earth.

Oddly - the automated script that generates the press folder every day for the exploratorum is still functioning smile.gif

OK, my mistake.

One of the webmasters at the Exploratorium assured me that they were still running their same updating scripts, but whatever it was it seems to be fixed now.

The exploratorium site is back up and running now with a big update of all the imagery from the last 2+ weeks.
