THe first couple of papers of Geophysical Research Letters (Special Section: Dust Devils on Earth and Mars) have started being published.

See also last year's Dust Devils on Earth and Mars: Workshop.

An excellent paper, "Dust devils on Earth and Mars," by Matt Balme and Ron Greeley, was published last week in Reviews of Geophysics.

These don't seem to be accessible to the general public.

...oh wait, I guess you can read it for $9.

How about I give you a 900 cent discount for the preprint? (1.1 Mb PDF)

Hint #1: Google, Balme, Greeley, dust devils, and Mars.

Hint #2: The links in the first post.

EDIT: I was waiting for someone to call me out on the "9000 cent[s]." I would have owed Don $81! cool.gif

Hey I like that terminology "particle loaded vertical convective vortices".

I wonder if Doug would still have issues if we suggested that the solar panels were being cleaned by particle loaded vertical convective vortices, or PLVCVs?

Love that term, especially once the NASA acronymers get to work on it:
