Messenger acquired spectral data for the lunar farside during a flyby on 2 August 2005:

(first abstract in the list)

Hopefully we will get some more information (like actual results) soon. I am not aware of any imaging during the flyby.

"Spectral reflectance magnitude and color variations of far side regions observed by MASCS are compared with those of returned lunar highland and mare samples."

Mercury Atmospheric and Surface Composition Spectrometer (MASCS), one of 7 Messenger's instruments is being utilized for calibration purposes with the moon surface and compare with the Selene's samples. I look forward in seeing any pictures.
