Just starting a topic on the GALILEO Satellite Navigation Network or European GPS system … smile.gif

The signals of the first ESA satellite of the GALILEO net, GIOVE A , were received by the L-band antenna of the Redu ( village Libin ) tracking station in Belgium.
By The Way, those receivers are built by a Belgian company Septentrio.
The Redu station can follow satellites both above Atlantic & Indian oceans.
The Belgian ESA ground-station near Redu was also involved in the first test of two-way LASER-communication between satellites. The test was conducted in December 2005 between Japanese satellite KIRARI and the European ARTEMIS.
