As known, a vertical projection on a 3D subject like this isn't easy, because requires a precise elevation terrain model.
Here I tried a very simple model, with Endurance approximated with an ellipsoid extruded from flat terrain...
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentI know this is not very realistic (rim is elevated over plain and crater isn't perfectly circular) and in fact this produce clear distorsions, especially close to the rover (see last picture).
However, result appear encouraging... (same method could be eventually be implemented in the Phil's Atlas work...)
