I had the chance of viewing this eclipse at the local observatory in Ghent, Belgium_and my first look through an H-alpha tongue.gif

Here's a view through a fellow member's telescope; who was kind enough to let me use his 6" skywatcher achromat. The photograph suffers from reflections and is technically the worst of the bunch I'd say..BUT I kinda liked the effect... laugh.gif

In Glasgow, there were solid clouds after maximum, but beforehand it was possible to see a nice partial eclipse.
