Hopefully there's still time to image MPL...

A new world record - Mike Malin releases an image less than 6 months after it was taken

To be fair - he wasnt too shoddy with the MER stuff, but usually he's terrible!

Wow, if "usually he's terrible" is 25% truthfull, I'd LOVE to hear some sarcastic "Mars Express image policy" remarks biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

That reminds me, there's a new Mars Express image. ( Yes, this is no joke )

The previous release was in July. No... not July 2004. So it's not THAT bad. cool.gif

Was MGS able to image the MPL crash once more after it recovered from its computer glitch ?

September 10th was the last opportunity to image MPL with cProto resolution. That's about a 100 hours ago. I guess you're as eager as me (and others on this forum) to see what happened, but we need some more patience i'm afraid... What i know is that it recovered before that date, however, i don't know about the status of it by the 10th.

What i do know is that imageing the crash site with this technique asks an accuracy in knowledge of the orbital position of MGS to within 30 milliseconds. ohmy.gif Hope this knowledge was established before the photo-opportunity, but i am not that optimistic about is.
