Well....as i'm sure you've noticed the exploratorium site has been down for ages now, not unusual though. However, I noticed that the "pub info release" folder stopped updating on the 7th. On previus occasions, didnt this continue to update even though no images were being uploaded to the site? I'm sure it did. I wonder, now that the JPL site is getting regular image updates, is exploratorium gone for good? sad.gif unsure.gif

The last period Exploratorium updated (12th of July to 2nd of August) it wasn't in the same way as before either. Previously while Explo was updating, you could be sure that the images would appear 2-4h after they were taken on Mars. During the July-August period Explo was often behind the JPL site with updates. Unfortunately this has reduced my following of the MER mission a little bit. Before I had the Mars clock in the back of my head somewhere, and I could check the Explo roughly at the right time of the day for updates.

I wonder if this some change by JPL with image release to the public outreach organisations. They might have unified the release times with the JPL site (which has improved a lot, but it's still not as reliable as Exploratorium used to be).

It's a problem with the JPL server that feeds out to the Exploratorium - and will be sorted when someone can attend to it.

Exploratorium is back up! Woo hoo! Just in time for summit coverage!

(Knocking on wood it stays up...)

Almost started a third thread sayin the same thing. wink.gif tongue.gif

I wonder if Exploratorium has problems again. huh.gif

The pictures downloaded on the last 24 hours are quite old and don't reflect the current status as reported by the MER Pancam Data Tracking Web Interface.

E.g. According to the pancam website, some of Spirit's images taken on sol 591 are actually on the ground -- they were already about 12 hours ago, same as for Oppy's data taken on sol 571. However, none of them were downloaded by the Exploratorium.

1. What new EDRs from ANY sol were received on sol 571?

Exploratorium seems to be down again. Can someone confirm this is not an error on my side ? Thanks.
Tman
Yes, but that adress still works: http://207.7.139.5/mars/spirit/

I can remember it was also temporary inaccessible when they add on new file folders.
Tesheiner
Some DNS related problems.

If qt.exploratorium.edu doesn't work, try nasa.exploratorium.edu.
As a last resource simply use the IP address 207.7.139.5 cited by Tman.

http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/

This should work, too smile.gif
TheChemist
Thanks everyone, I remember this has happened before, but I could not find the IP address. At the moment both qt.exploratorium.edu and nasa.exploratorium.edu do not work, but using the IP all is ok. smile.gif

Exploratorium is working now (11:05 AM CST, 17:05 GMT).

FWIW.
