What are your choices for favorite sites for Mars Odyssey and Mars Express color photos? Here's mine:

Clouds in Noctis Labyrinthis on Mars.

MGS has already taken a similar image...I think that MGS can only image at about 2 PM due to its orbit, so this image, take during Aerobreaking, can't be repeated. I don't know whether or not Odyssey or Mars Express have such constraints.

Thanks for the response. It shows low lying fogs/clouds in Noctis as well. But actually MGS has limited ability for color photos since it doesn't have a green channel -it estimates the green from the red and the blue.

Actually Mars Express has taken a color image of the area also showing dense low lying fog. The image appears in this report:

Adsorption water driven processes on Mars.

My two favorite MGS colour images are these

I simply trawled every batch, and every section of mars for WA colour pairs - and this was one of them. I love it - a brilliant Astronauts view of Meridiani smile.gif

and this one

Rather famous - this is my version of it - again it's the astronauts view that William Hartmann push Mike Malin to take - and much kudos to him for doing so smile.gif
