Imagine if a spaceprobe with a small red and blue filtered camera landed in my garden smile.gif This is the data set it sent back. I thought it'd be a laugh just to string something together - if anyone sticks together a funky mosaic from it- I'll then take a proper photo of the area so you can compare to see how we look at the images we get and how the compare to reality biggrin.gif

For the green filter - probably best to average red + blue smile.gif

If anyone likes the idea - I'll do some others from some interesting places smile.gif

Well, the surface polygons obviously indicate substantial quantities of sub-surface ice may have been present at some point, and there's some sort of hardware isue which has resulted in a strange stepping effect in some images, almost like a garden fence...

I don't know Doug ... I see strong signs of artificiality in your garden.
Are there any orbiter views of the area ? biggrin.gif

Doug,

Did you lend your phone to the Huygens team, by any chance?

Chris

PS. Please note that I have strenuously resisted the temptation to make any "no signs of intelligent life" jokes....

The background and general area look quite lifeless and wild to me -- but in the foreground of the first four images, there is *definitely* a trilobite fossil! It's as obvious as anything! And if any of y'all can't see it, that just proves my own very special and God-like powers of observation and analysis!

Should we take up a collection to get you some patio furniture?

I'm for the garden furniture donation scheme, but let's NOT get him a sandpit! He'd only lose his best toys in it!

Furniture's still in the Garage - hid it away for the winter and it's only just getting warm enough to need it again smile.gif

That spaceprobe that landed in your garden must be on a SETI seach program.
SETI = SEarch for Terrestrial Intelligence.
