On sol 4314 drive MSL took 358 Mars Descent Imager images of what was crusted by the wheel. Looks like they went over lots of little rocks with either gypsum or sulfur. They just hit the raw images page today. Example Example2

There have been no pictures from the navigation camera and hazcam for a few days. It's a bit worrying, maybe a malfunction? I hope not, because the photos from the navigation camera allow to orient in the area. And they are exceptionally beautiful.
Does anyone know what's going on? -------------------- Free software for planetary science (including Cassini Image Viewer).
