Hello, folks!
Is there anybody here who has experience or at least experiments with ImageMagick? This is a powerful tool for Linux based operating systems. A basic description of the commands is presented here: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-tools.php |

ImageMagick is also available in Windows versions, I've used it for a variety of projects. It is handy for batch processing in dos.

I never knew that there was a Windows version. Yesterday I played with it (and with GIMP) a little in my efforts to restore some old Soviet images. This is the result after an hour and half work:
http://www.cosmos.1.bg/snimki/luna/myownre...red.svetlio.jpg I've not tried to combine several frames to prevent loss of data and (or) to make a better quality image. But as far as I understand this is possible with ImageMagick! I may try to do this in the future. |

Yeah, ImageMagick is quite powerful. It's basically like a programmable Photoshop. It has a command line version and a programmable API that's been ported to all the major languages. Beware that in some languages, the list of commands you can issue isn't as extensive as in other languages.
(I haven't used it much, though. I'm a programmer and I looked at its API in depth a few times.) |

You may want to try GraphicsMagick first. It's a fork of ImageMagick. Its advantages are documented on its webpage.
